Paulo coelho book turned into a movie?

I saw a preview for the movie Veronica decides to die when I rented a nick cage movie , I have and read the book and did not know it was turned into a movie until today . have u seen veronica decides to die? I can't imagine it would be anywhere near as good as the book . for some reason they put Sarah Michelle gellar in it ( wtf)
