What event in Edgar Allan Poe's life caused him to want revenge?

Most of the themes in his writing refer to his previous experiences. For example, his loss of the women in his life (leading to lack of ) is shown in Poe's short story, "A Tell-Tale Heart." What event could relate to him wanting revenge, as shown in "The Cask of the Amontillado" and "The Oblong Box?"
