Is affirmative action prevalent in dental school admissions?

I am a white male applying to dental school in California. I am curious if affirmative action guidelines are still strongly used in taking candidates or if this is just a political issue and most admissions faculty realize that middle cl white males have to work just as hard as anyone else.
