What is the international convention for wearing an ear ring with regards to ual orientation of males?

I am a male who has a piercing on my right ear at the top. I need to know what is the significance with regards to ual orientation and specifically so in Sri Lanka where i am residing right now. I have been informed that a piercing in the right ear signifies gay orientation but i have been told otherwise too. and does the site of piercing matter? earlobe? top of the ear?
