Is Santa Claus Real or Fake?

Well when I was about 8 or 9,i went to Dolly Wood for the Christmas parade.Well Here comes Santa,as far as i could hear,he was just saying "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Then he came around to the corner and said,"Merry Christmas 'My name'!!!!" Also all my friends say he is fake. But when I get my presents from him,my parents are too poor to buy it.Like a pool table,hockey table,wii and more at the same day! I think he is real.But am i right?
